There’s tons of new mascara lines being launched right now in preparation for the holidays, a lot of them focusing on intense volume and length (certainly not a bad thing!). I recently picked up the new mascara from MAC (the In Extreme Dimension – the one with a silly shaped tube) and I had a lot of trouble keeping it from clumping at first even though the brush is one that is supposed to define. What I realized: since it’s a new mascara, the brush is just picking up too much product. To prevent this – wipe the wand on the edge of the tube, scraping off all of the excess mascara. Believe me, a TON will come off, but there will be enough left over on the bristles themselves to coat your lashes. You might have to apply a few coats this way instead of just doing one, but it’s well worth the extra time. Give it a try next time you’re using a new mascara!
