Kevyn Aucoin: The Celestial Powder in Candlelight

In general, Nordstrom has a kick ass makeup department. Though the prices can be painful, the selection is often well worth it as long as you can afford it. I was looking around for a good non-creme highlighter that wasn’t sold in a bronzer duo (surprisingly hard to find at Sephora) and I was turned onto a brand I’d never heard of before – Kevyn Aucoin.

A sleek compact with a brush and a mirror, a given rather than an extra for the product price of $44

Before and after: there’s some change in the light tone (thanks phone camera) but the difference is clear – I have a glow on my nose and cheekbones, as well as under my eyebrows and on my lip and chin

hard to get a good picture with my current setup (working on it), but this highlighter is definitely worth the cost.
PRO: good for ALL skin colors, easy application, beautiful appearance
CON: cost, included brush somewhat stiff

A subtle glow that remains noticeable but tasteful, harder and harder to achieve amongst all the glitter-packed powder highlighters today. If you’re looking for a new addition to your contouring kit (or even if you’re not) get yourself to a Nordstrom ASAP and try some of this stuff out. It’s a quality product and worth the buy, even with the large price tag.
