MAC Cosmetics: Temperature Rising Bronzing Powder in Soft Sand

I finished up the old bronzer I had and knew I had to get something new since I’m entirely too pale to not have at least a little contouring. I really liked the old MAC powder I had and wanted to see what else they could offer me. As part of their recent Temperature Rising collection they’ve released two bronzers, designed for use to contour or even just to enhance your summer tan.

The compact has a soft plastic finish making it really nice just to hold. $25 in store or online.

The color is lighter and warmer than my old shade which actually makes it much more natural looking against my skin. The texture of the powder is very smooth and blends well, though I use a brush for application.

Just a subtle shift, perfect for adding dimension without looking overdone

The color is a nice golden brown with a subtle frost added. It’s light enough that I can really layer it on in areas where I want more depth without having to look like I’m a Lion King play.

Simple B/A pictures below:

Just bb cream, no contouring or highlighting done

With bronzer – you can see it near my temple, under my cheekbone, under my jaw, and on the side of my nose. It sticks out in this picture because there is still no blusher or highlighter added to balance out the darker areas

As far as application, I’d recommend a flat angled brush like the one from the Sephora Pro line! Not too expensive, as far as brushes go, and it’s of surprisingly good quality. If I remember, it cost around $25-30.

If you’re pale and in need of a contouring powder or you just want to add to your summer glow I would definitely recommend this. Easy to use and great quality, just what you would expect from a MAC product.

PRO: good expected product life, easy to apply, blends well, nice texture

CON: somewhat pricey, may not be appropriate for medium or dark skin tones
